BOOK REVIEW: AMARBAIL BY UMERA AHMED

  Title:  Amarbail  Author: Umera Ahmed   Rating: 4.5/5  If you are someone very close to me, you would know I am one of the craziest fans of Umera Ahmed. Today I am going to review my favorite novel where I cried buckets. Amarbail – another milestone by the writer. The book has many characters and stories severely unveiling themselves. It is about the barbaric bureaucratic system of Pakistan. The story centers on Alizey Sikandar, a young introvert girl from a broken family living with her maternal grandparents in Lahore. Her grandfather is a retired civil servant. And her uncles and cousins are serving in and out of Pakistan in the best positions. Alizey is brought up in a closed environment. She is treated like a child, and she’d always have someone else’s opinion influence her mind. But I like how the writer has shown the development of Alizey’s character in the novel.
